A Sydney Disc Golf Club Social Event
The beautiful weather saw a record number of 36 players turn up for our September social day including some international visitors.
It was the red layouts turn this month and it didn’t take long for some excitement. Club President, Mat Wallis, slammed home an ace on hole 9 to snatch the ever-growing ace pot of $433. The ace pot now resets to $100 for next month. Mat continued on to finish with a 4 under round of 53 to finish tied third along with Priit Koiv and Tanner Sleep.
Out in front though, Rhys Wisniewski and Ben Wynn finished 4 shots clear with an impressive 49 – an estimated round rating of 976. The two then battled it out in sudden death with Rhys taking home the raw score win for September.
In the handicap league, it was a super tight finish with Tanner Sleep snatching the victory over Rhys by less than 1 shot. Jason Rees was a little over 1 shot further back in third.

During the round, we held an accurate drive competition. This was something new for most players with the aim to land closest to a string line on hole 5. The winner on the day was Andy Simpson with a shot within 1 metre of the string.
After a short break, around 20 players teamed up for a round of random draw doubles. The great shots continued in the almost perfect conditions. Priit and newcomer Justice ran away for the win with a 14 under round.
