Whalan Reserve is a public park and is generally available 24 hours a day. There are a number of other sporting venues nearby.

Can I Hire Discs?

Discs are not available to hire at this time.

Do I Need To Make a Booking to Play?

No, you don't need to make a booking. Just bring some discs (or a frisbee) and turn up and play.

Is Somebody From the Club There Each Day?

No. The Club is run by a small group of volunteers and we are usually at the Armory on weekends only. Check the web site for event dates or message us if you want to meet up.

How Much Does It Cost to Play?

Nothing. The course is freely available and parking is free.

Where Can I Buy Discs?

Discs can be purchased from Sydney Disc Golf Club through this web site and orders picked up by appointment from Newington Armory (Sydney Olympic Park).

How many holes does the course have?

Whalan Reserve has 18 baskets with 18 tees. The course is intermediate level.

What facilities are available?

Make sure you bring your own drinking water and there are no toilets available (unless there is an event a the oval to the south, where there are toilets in the grandstand).

Is There a Scoring App?

There sure is! We recommend UDisc - it has the Whalan Reserve course layout with GPS tracking. Search for the app on Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

What Do I Do If Somebody is In The Way?

Whalan Reserve is a public park open to all. It is used by cyclists, walkers, dog walkers nature watchers and sometimes campers. If somebody is in the way, wait for them to move or skip the hole. Don't throw if there is a risk of hitting anybody. Occasionally cars are parked on some of the holes.

I'm Looking For Someone to Play With

Maybe your new to the area or never played disc golf before. We recommend joining the Whalan Reserve Disc Golf group on Facebook and post a message to introduce yourself and ask if anybody is playing when you plan to visit.
