Social Day Events

Fun times on a Sunday morning once a month!

Sydney Disc Golf Club hosts monthly social day events at:

  • The Newington Armory – usually the second Sunday of the month at 9:30am;
  • North Ryde Common – usually the last Sunday of the month at 9:30am.

Time and dates may change depending on other events. Check the Events Calendar to see the date and time of the next social day.

Social days are perfect for new players and beginners to learn about the sport and have a great time. Entry is free for club members or first time player. The entry fee for non-members after their first free round is $6 which includes insurance. Please pay by direct deposit to BSB 062 189 and account number 1053 4492 (put your name and month in the reference) or you can also pay by cash on the day.

If you’re feeling lucky, you can also enter the optional Ace Pot for an additional $2. If you score an ace (hole-in-one) you’ll win the money in the Ace Pot, which may have built up to many hundreds of dollars. Check the home page for the current Ace Pot value.

Social day events are typically an 18-hole individual stroke event and you’ll be randomly grouped with a mix of players and skills. If you’d prefer to play with a friend, please let the organiser know when you check in on the day.

The club hosts free coaching sessions for newer players on some social days – check the event details in the event calendar for further details.

Sydney Disc Golf Club uses UDisc for all social events. The free app is available for Android on Google Play and iPhone on the App Store.

Regular players will receive a handicap (after 3 social day events) which will allow them to compete in the handicap league. The handicap winner at each social day event will win a prize.

There will be other fun events during or after the social day round including closest-to-the-pin (CTP), putting competitions and driving competitions.

If after all this you’ve still got fuel in the tank, there will usually be a second round of random draw doubles or some other fun format (weather permitting).
