The Newington Armory is the site of Sydney’s first permanent disc golf course and has been the central hub of disc golf in NSW since 2006.
Access to the Newington Armory is free and gates are open 9am to 5pm daily. Discs are available to hire from the visitors centre at the northern entry to the Armory.
The course is 18 holes with 18 Innova DISCatcher baskets and has some slight variation in elevation. Whilst relatively open, most holes present a challenge with well placed trees, out of bounds road or the typical southerly wind that will blow in the afternoon. Tees are a mix of natural (grass/dirt) and asphalt road.
There are 3 course layouts available to play. As the Armory is a heritage listed site, there are no tee signs, just tee markers set into the ground. It is highly recommended that first time players use the UDisc app with GPS tracking to locate the tees.
