Common Questions

Here are some of the typical questions we receive.

North Ryde Common is a public park and is generally available 24 hours a day. Ryde City Council does run occasional events in the park.

Can I Rent Discs?

Discs are available to hire from the Club House at North Ryde Golf Club (across the road from North Ryde Common). You can call them on (02) 9887 4422.

How Much Does It Cost to Play?

If you have your own discs, it's free to play. No bookings required. Just turn up and throw.

Where Can I Buy Discs?

Discs can be purchased from Sydney Disc Golf Club through this web site (located at Sydney Olympic Park).

How many holes does the course have?

North Ryde Common has 9 baskets with 2 different sets of tees to accommodate different skill levels. The first 9 holes (red tees) are beginner to intermediate difficulty while the second 9 holes (blue tees) are intermediate to advanced difficulty.

What facilities are available?

There is a drinking fountain in the middle of the park. There are no permanent toilets but occasionally there may be a portable toilet on site.

Is There a Scoring App?

There sure is! We recommend UDisc - it has all the North Ryde Common layouts with GPS tracking. Search for the app on Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

What Do I Do If Somebody is In The Way?

North Ryde Common is a public park open to all. It is used by dog walkers, locals, tourists, picniccers, nature watchers and people enjoying a day out. If somebody is in the way, wait for them to move or skip the hole. Don't throw if there is a risk of hitting anybody.

I'm Looking For Someone to Play With

Maybe your new to the area or never played disc golf before. We recommend joining the North Ryde Disc Golf group on Facebook and post a message to introduce yourself and ask if anybody is playing when you plan to visit.
