A Sydney Disc Golf Club Social Event
Finally, after months of wet weather, a beautiful clear blue sky greeted 28 disc golfers for the June social day. Two holes still had some long grass to contend with, but the rest of the course was dry and generally in good condition. Disc golf continues to grow with 8 people joining us for the first time including the Fisher family on holiday from the US, plus Diane and Lina showing that it’s never too old to start playing. It was also great to catch up with an old mate of Sydney Disc Golf Club, with Cal Patton dropping in for a game during a quick visit to Australia from the US.
We also had some special guests, “Josephine” and “Jane” who got lost on the way to their netball game. It looks like they had a good time and based on the scores, it appears a netball skirt is no hindrance to playing disc golf.
With conditions close to ideal, the scores reflected this with half the field breaking par on the 18-hole white layout. Mat Wallis put together the strong round to finish with a 45 (-9), two shots clear of Priit Koiv and Joe Nardo. (Looks like Joe might need to wear a netball skirt more often!)
Che Taylor finished with the best handicap score based on Metrix ratings and took home a Latitude64 River for his efforts.
In the club handicap league, Joe Nardo finished in first place taking top points.

Following the round, a Disctroyer DD-13 Sparrow was up for grabs in the longest drive competition. The top players were handicapped by being limited to throwing a putter. The prize was snatched by Cash Fisher, visiting from the US.
With beautiful conditions about a dozen players stuck around for a fun round of doubles on the red layout.

Thank you so much for having us. Cash Fisher was actually the one who took home the DD-13. Hopefully we can make it back again one day.

Always great to have visitors and hope you had a fun day. Have updated the post to show that Cash one the longest drive. Hope he enjoys the disc.
