A Sydney Disc Golf Club Social Event
Another warm and humid Sunday, but the rain stayed away and with no more long grass on the back part of the course, 35 players turned up for the February social day. Again it was great to see some new players joining us for their first competitive round and it was the beginner friendly white layout in play this month.
We were expecting some aces today with a $50 bounty for any ace. There were a few chain hits, but the ace pot is secure and jackpots to $311 next month.
In the raw score competition, Mario Tolberg continued his good form with a 10-under round 44 taking the win by 2 shots over Mat Wallis and Priit Koiv. Daniel Comninos and Mat Lamy were a further shot behind tied for 4th.
In the handicap competition, the top 3 positions were separated by less than 1 stroke. Jack Tonzing took the handicap win with a score of 34.5 over Daniel Comninos on 35.0 and Lisa Wallis on 35.1. Most players have now qualified for a handicap so it will be interesting to watch the handicap competition over the coming months.

Following the round, the group let rip with their best throws in the longest drive competition. To even the competition this month, the top players (who scored under 50 for the round) were limited to a putter only. The big arms tried their best to make their putters go the distance, but Jack Lemon took the prize with a lovely gliding flex shot.
Following a short break, around half the group headed back out for 18-holes on the red course playing best shot doubles.
